The beauty of Bar Harbor was first captured on canvas in the 1800’s by noted American painters. It was these paintings that initially drew the original Rusticators to Mount Desert Island. Other artists soon followed, and their art continues to inspire new visitors to this day.
Bar Harbor and its surrounding areas support a lively arts community, with resident and visiting artists alike. It is this heritage that we like to celebrate by hosting the annual Art in the Park show, slated for Saturday, June 17th and Sunday, June 18th, 2017.
Sponsored by the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce, Art in the Park brings together more than 25 artists who will display and sell their original pieces over the weekend on the Village Green in downtown Bar Harbor. Hailing from across Maine and New England, these artists represent a diverse range of styles and mediums in the field of painting, photography, and printmaking. Come to wander the artists’ tents, or purchase a one-of-a-kind piece for yourself at the 67th Annual Art in the Park show.
This is a rain or shine event. For more information, please visit http://www.barharborinfo.com/Events/Art-in-the-Park-Show.aspx.
