Wabanaki people have been known to use traditional knowledge informed by contemporary lifestyles to create new, unique pieces of art. This included things like sewing kits, purses, and even bookmarks! Before you get back into the routine of school, come and celebrate the end of summer by making your very own ash and sweetgrass bookmark. Woven similar to a basket, each student in the class will go home with a bookmark made from brightly dyed ash strips and blades of sweetgrass.
Free and open to the public, registration required. All ages are welcome, but priority will be given to children. Contact George Neptune to reserve a spot, firstname.lastname@example.org, (207) 288.3519 ext. 31.
