BAR HARBOR — Join two intrepid travelers to Argentina and from there all the way to Antarctica. Bill McArtor and Linda Kollett will share slides and stories from an adventure there in January 2013, at the Jesup Memorial Library, 34 Mount Desert St., on Friday, May 16, beginning at 7 p.m.
The show, called “Icebergs, Penguins and the Fram,” is free and open to all, and refreshments will be served.
Mr. McArtor is a retired postal worker, who now works part time at Sherman's during the summer. He has joined Ms. Kollett on several trips to ambitious destinations including the Rio Negro region of the Amazon, and the Antarctic Peninsula.
Ms. Kollett is a retired college professor who taught biology. She has traveled extensively in Israel, Turkey, Jordan, Botswana, Zambia, South Africa, Brazil, Australia, Europe and Antarctica. She has trips planned to Machu Picchu, the Galapagos, Borneo, and Norway.
This presentation will include short segments on travel to and from Antarctica, Buenos Aires and Iguazu Falls.
