Eagle Lake Swimming Restrictions

The Town of Bar Harbor has many bodies of water within its boundaries, from the Atlantic Ocean to small ponds like Aunt Betty's Pond. One of these bodies of water is the beautiful, pristine Eagle Lake.
Eagle Lake is the drinking water for the Town of Bar Harbor. The water is very clear and clean, and there is a lot of effort put forth to maintain this level of purity.
Although recreation in and around the lake is encouraged, swimming, windsurfing, and motor boating are prohibited. It is a wonderful area for hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing and fishing.
The Bar Harbor Water Co. Wishes that consideration be used when recreating in this area.
Please remember when staying in Bar Harbor proper that you are also drinking Eagle Lake water.
